BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) vehicle factory in Cambodia broke ground on Monday, the Chinese embassy in Cambodia said Monday.
The factory will start operations in 2025, the embassy said.
The plant in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone is capable of producing 10,000 vehicles in a 120,000-square-meter facility, Reuters reported separately.
BYD received 1,000 orders in Cambodia in Q1, the report added.
