U.S. stocks traded higher midway through trading, with the Nasdaq Composite gaining more than 2% on Thursday.
The Dow traded up 0.97% to 39,989.57 while the NASDAQ gained 2.24% to 17,082.79. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 1.69% to 5,466.54.

Bristol Myers Squibb & Co (NYSE:BMY) reported better-than-expected first-quarter results.
The company posted quarterly revenues of $11.20 billion, beating the consensus of $10.70 billion. The company reported an adjusted EPS of $1.80, a turnaround from a loss of $4.40 a year ago, beating the consensus of $1.49.
Bristol Myers Squibb raised its fiscal year 2025 adjusted EPS from $6.55-$6.85 to $6.70-$7.00 compared to consensus of $6.74.

Asian markets closed mixed on Thursday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 surging 0.49%, China's Shanghai Composite gaining 0.03%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index falling 0.74% and India's BSE Sensex falling 0.39%.
