Exclusive: Coalition hires RPS' Manny Cho to lead Western region

By James Thaler

April 28 - (The Insurer) - Coalition has recruited Manny Cho from Risk Placement Services to lead its Western region, a move that comes after the cyber specialist earlier this year rolled out a new regional go-to-market model in North America.

Sources with direct knowledge of the matter confirmed the move to Cyber Risk Insurer.

Cho spent nine years with Gallagher-owned wholesaler RPS after previously serving in underwriting roles at Axis, CNA, AIG and Chubb. Earlier in his career he held broking roles at Aon and California-based professional liability-focused intermediary Carpenter Moore.

Cyber Risk Insurer was the first to report in January that Coalition was updating its operating model in a shift aimed at centralising broker engagement as well as driving faster and better service.

The operating model shift created five new regional teams within North America: West, Central, Southeast, Northeast and Canada.

The Joshua Motta-led firm has also done away with a number of functional teams as part of the realignment, including business development, risk engineering and production underwriting.

Other notable talent moves Coalition has made this year include the hire of David Lynders from Falcon Risk Services as head of insurance, while company veteran Shawn Ram was named the insurtech’s inaugural chief revenue officer.

Coalition also recently appointed Tiago Henriques as the firm’s first-ever chief underwriting officer.
