Tencent (HKG:0700) will offer 28,000 internships in the next three years as Chinese fresh graduates face difficulties in finding work, the South China Morning Post reported Thursday.
The tech company is looking to hire 10,000 interns this year alone, with 6,000 related to artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and video gaming engines, the report said.
Tencent said it is striving to absorb more interns as employees, but it did not say the proportion of interns that could be retained, the SCMP said.
The Shenzhen-based tech company has 55,000 employees, and 110,558 employees when including subsidiaries, the report said.
