European Equities Closed for Easter Monday; EU Reminds Tech Giants it Will Enforce Digital Rules

The European stock markets were closed Monday morning for the Easter holiday.

The European Union is considering ways to help US liquefied natural gas exporters comply with its methane emissions rules as part of efforts to prevent a potential trade conflict with President Donald Trump, Reuters reported Monday, citing unnamed sources. The European Commission did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.

And in corporate news, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told Politico that it will enforce its digital rules on tech companies, such as X, Meta, Apple, and TikTok, no matter who is in charge of these firms or where they're located.
