RTX's Raytheon Business Starts Production of Lower Tier Air, Missile Defense Sensor

RTX's (RTX) Raytheon business said Monday that its Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor, or LTAMDS, is in production after completing the US Army's flight test program and receiving the Department of Defense's Major Capability Acquisition Milestone C designation for the radar.

Raytheon said it delivered the first six LTAMDS to the US Army under a 2019 contract award and it is manufacturing eight additional LTAMDS radars per year. The company said it plans to ramp up production to 12 units annually.

The company is producing radars for the US Army and Poland under an August, 2024 contract.
