Memory-chip maker Micron Technology is restructuring its business units in a bid to capitalize on booming artificial intelligence demand.

The memory and storage solutions company said Thursday it will begin transitioning to a new business structure immediately, with the changes expected to be completed early in fiscal quarter that starts at the end of May.

Micron will structure along four business lines, a cloud memory division, core data center business, mobile and client business, and an automotive and embedded business unit.

Each of the units will continue to report to Sumit Sadana, the company's executive vice president and chief business officer. Micron will report financial results under the new business structure starting with its fiscal fourth quarter.
