Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Q1 Earnings, Revenue Rise; Issues Q2 Revenue Outlook

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) reported Q1 earnings Thursday of 69.72 New Taiwan dollars ($2.12) per diluted American depositary receipt, up from NT$43.48 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected NT$67.32.

Net sales for the quarter ended March 31 were NT$839.25 billion, up from NT$592.64 billion a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected NT$827.59 billion.

The company said it expects Q2 revenue to be in a range of $28.4 billion to $29.2 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect $26.92 billion.
