Apollo Global Management named Gary Cohn to its board as lead independent director and Chief Executive Marc Rowan its chairman, both succeeding Jay Clayton.
The New York-based asset manager on Thursday said Clayton, who has been chair and lead independent director since March 2021, will assume the role of Interim US Attorney for the Southern District of New York on April 22.
Clayton will officially resign from the firm's board on April 21.
Cohn, the vice chair of IBM and former director of the U.S. National Economic Council, will fill the lead independent director role1. Cohn previously worked at Goldman Sachs for 26 years, including a decade as president and chief operating officer.
Rowan will take on his additional role effective April 21.
