European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were modestly higher late Thursday morning, rising 0.31% to 1,331.70 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC), which rose 2.7% and 2.3% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS) and telecommunications operator Telefonica (TEF), which were up 2.1% and 2% respectively.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk (NVO) and furniture maker Natuzzi (NTZ), which lost 8.3% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by 3D printer company Materialise (MTLS) and biopharmaceutical company Genfit (GNFT), which dropped 2.4% and 1.8% respectively.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by insurance company Prudential (PUK) and biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL), which increased 3.7% and 3.3% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Mereo BioPharma Group (MREO) and oil and gas company BP (BP), which rose 2.8% each.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Amarin (AMRN) and NuCana (NCNA), which fell 4.8% each. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Biodexa Pharmaceuticals (BDRX) and Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), which were down 2.8% and 2.7% respectively.
