ISTANBUL, April 16 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 38.1100 against the U.S. dollar at 0231 GMT, compared with a close of 38.0800 on Tuesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.32% lower at 9,393.79 points on Tuesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Shares fell in Asia on Wednesday as AI darling Nvidia NVDA.O took a hit from U.S. curbs on chip sales to China, highlighting the damage to come in a tit-for-tat global trade war, while gold hit a record and the dollar stayed under pressure.
BLACK SEA SECURITY
Military representatives of Turkey and other nations will meet for a second day at naval headquarters in Ankara to discuss how Black Sea security would be managed after any possible ceasefire is agreed between Ukraine and Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Ukrainian, British, French and Turkish representatives were attending the meeting.
OPPOSITION RALLY
Ozgur Ozel, leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), will lead a rally in Istanbul's Beylikduzu in support of jailed mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, President Tayyip Erdogan's main rival. (1730 GMT)
HOUSE SALES
The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce house sales data for March. (0700 GMT)
AGRICULTURAL FROST
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli will inspect the apricot orchards affected by the agricultural frost in Malatya. (1000 GMT)
TREASURY BORROWING
The Turkish Treasury said on Tuesday it had borrowed $1.47 billion in a dollar-denominated domestic government bond and $213.1 million in a dollar-denominated sukuk issue from institutional investors.
PRO-KURDISH PARTY
Turkey's pro-Kurdish DEM Party called on parliament on Tuesday to pave the way for a renewed peace process by enacting legislation that would support the disarmament of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
TRANSPORT MINISTER
Minister of Transport Abdulkadir Uraloglu will inspect railway line construction sites in Slovenia and hold talks with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob.
OPPOSITION PARTY
