0825 GMT - Hong Kong shares ended higher, supported by pharmaceutical and tech stocks. The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 2.4% to 21417.40 and the Hang Seng Tech Index gained 2.3%. Investors are digesting the weekend's developments on U.S. trade policy for tech products, after a filing on Friday showed some categories, including smartphones, will be exempt from sweeping tariffs. However, President Trump said Sunday that levies on tech products are simply moving to a different bucket. CSPC Pharmaceutical and Wuxi Biologics added 9.5% and 6.4%, respectively. Alibaba Group and Baidu gained 5.1% and 4.0%, respectively. Meanwhile, among the few decliners, Xiaomi was down 2.4% and China Resources Beer dropped 3.15%.(jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
