Difficult to Remain Tactically Positive on U.S. Treasurys, ING Says -- Market Talk

0601 GMT - It is difficult to maintain a bullish tactical--or short-term--view on U.S. Treasurys after last week's market reaction, ING rates strategists say in a note. "We therefore align our tactical positioning with our structural view that the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield can still move higher," they say. The safe-haven status of U.S. Treasurys is being challenged and technical factors might be at play here, the strategists say. These include a broader deleveraging, but this doesn't change the fact that U.S. bonds sold off in a time of distress and didn't serve as a hedge against the concurrent sell-off in equities, they say.
