Mercury Ev-Tech Arm Commissions 3.2 GW Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing Unit; Shares Up 3%

PowerMetz Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mercury Ev-Tech (BOM:531357), has commissioned a 3.2 GW lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility at its Vadodara campus in Gujarat, India, according to a BSE filing on Tuesday.

The company has placed an order for a fully robotic, high-throughput production line from a Chinese equipment provider.

The equipment is expected to reach the Vadodara campus by the end of April and pilot production is scheduled to begin mid-May.

The unit will produce lithium iron phosphate, nickel manganese cobalt, sodium-ion cells, and supercapacitor modules.

Shares of the company were up over 3% in recent trade.
