1236 ET - U.S. beverages and household and personal care companies will report challenging 1Q results, Citi analysts say in a research note. The companies aren't only facing a difficult set-up for the sector with soft commentary on the U.S. and Europe, but also from key emerging markets such as Mexico and India. Both markets had been positive elements of growth for the companies in the past few quarters. Many haven't provided commentary on tariffs, so that will be a large focus. Citi has a cautious near-term view on Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive and Coca-Cola, and a positive view on Church & Dwight, Boston Beer and Keurig Dr Pepper. Citi cuts its target price for the stocks of Estee Lauder, Newell Brands, Clorox and Brown-Forman, and raises its target price on Boston Beer, Monster Beverage and Kenvue.
