Progressive Reports Lower Income, Rising Premiums in March

Progressive (PGR) Wednesday reported net income for March of $0.89 per share, down from $1.52 a year earlier.

The company also reported $9.04 billion in net premiums written in March, up from $7.75 billion a year earlier, and $6.79 billion in net premiums earned, up from $5.63 billion a year ago.

Progressive shares were up about 3% in recent premarket activity.
