NextDecade (NEXT) said Monday that TotalEnergies (TTE) has exercised its liquefied natural gas purchase option regarding Train 4 of the Rio Grande LNG facility near Brownsville, Texas.
Under a sales and purchase agreement signed by subsidiaries of both companies, TotalEnergies Gas & Power North America will purchase 1.5 million metric tons per annum of LNG for 20 years on a free-on-board basis at a price indexed to Henry Hub, NextDecade said. The agreement is subject to a final investment decision on Train 4.
NextDecade said it has contracted a total of 4.6 million metric tons per annum of LNG from Train 4 on a long-term basis.
