President Trump met with his trade team Tuesday morning at the White House, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said. At the meeting, Trump directed his advisers to "have tailor made trade deals with each and every country that calls up this administration."
Leavitt said the president encouraged them to "listen" in negotiations and seek "unique" deals "based on that country's markets, based on that country's exports, the imports here in the United States of America." However, Leavitt said the tariffs would take effect as negotiations continue.
