Two American Airlines (AAL) jets, likely regional flights, one carrying Rep. Nick LaLota, R-New York, clipped wings at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport around 12:45 p.m. ET, MSNBC reported Thursday.

One of the planes was getting ready to depart for John F. Kennedy International, New York, but the flight plan of the other aircraft was not yet confirmed, according to the news outlet, citing sources.

No injuries or emergency response activity was reported, but the incident raises concerns about the growing number of incidents at the airport in recent months, MSNBC reported.

American Airlines didn't immediately respond to a comment request from MT Newswires.

Shares were down 12% in recent trading.
