South Korea's public procurement agency arranged a meeting between the United States Forces Korea (USFK) acquisition entities and prospective suppliers earlier in the week, Yonhap News Agency reported Thursday.

Through the meeting, the Public Procurement Service (PPS) and the USFK aim to support Korean suppliers looking to delve into the USFK procurement market amid heightened global trade tensions, the report said.

Over 150 Korean companies and four USFK acquisition entities attended the event, where the participants presented their products and services to the USFK contractors and had one-on-one consultations, according to the report.

The USFK procurement market can aid South Korean companies looking to engage with offshore US military bases or in the US itself, the report said, citing PPS director of international cooperation, Kim Hye-kyeong.
