CME Group (CME) said Wednesday its Q1 average daily volume from outside the US was 8.8 million contracts, up 19% from a year earlier.
The company said the gains were supported by a 29% rise in energy products, a 29% growth in agricultural products, and a 14% increase in foreign exchange services.
CME said its Q1 ADV in Europe, the Middle East and Africa reached 6.5 million contracts, up 20% from the prior year.
The company's ADV for Asia Pacific was 2 million contracts, up 20% compared with last year, while Latin America contracts were 185,000, down 2% from the previous year.
The Q1 ADV for Canada was 196,000 contracts, up 17% year over year, CME said.
Globally, the company reported quarterly ADV of 29.8 million contracts in Q1.
