Consumer Discretionary Stocks Could Be Ripe for Short Squeeze -- Market Talk

1055 ET - Stocks in the consumer discretionary space have been hit hard by the recent market selloff, but the heavily shorted sector now seems primed for a short squeeze, and even some bargain hunting for long-term investors, Morgan Stanley analysts say in a research note. They're still underweight on the sector overall, and have been for the past three and a half years. But last Friday, the sector outperformed as traders took advantage of the high short interest, the analysts say. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
