CHICAGO, April 7 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were mixed in the U.S. Midwest on Monday as industry players weighed the impact of U.S. trade policy and retaliatory tariffs against U.S. agricultural goods, dealers said.
* The corn basis rose at an Ohio elevator, Indiana ethanol plant and an Iowa ethanol plant. The basis fell at an Illinois ethanol plant.
* The soy basis ticked down at an Iowa river terminal.
* Corn exports may remain unaffected by Chinese tariff policies, as China hasn't been a key buyer in recent months, and Mexico - the top U.S. corn buyer - was exempted from the reciprocal tariffs.
* China's 34% tariffs against U.S. goods could stop U.S. agricultural exports to China, which would be especially disastrous for U.S. soy exports to the world's largest soybean importer.
* CBOT May soybeans SK25 were last up 2 cents to $9.78-1/2 per bushel as of midday. May corn CK25 was last down 3/4 cent to $4.59-1/2 a bushel.
