Malaysia Smelting (SGX:NPW, KLSE:MSC) confirmed that a fire incident which took place on April 1 at Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Malaysia, has impacted the company's operations, according to a Monday filing with the Singapore Exchange.
A fire erupted after a gas pipeline which supplies gas to the smelter exploded.
The company said the disruption is not expected to materially impact its earnings during the current financial year, and the company is actively working towards minimizing the impact of the disruption, the filing added.
Malaysia Smelting's Singapore shares were up nearly 4% recently, while its Malaysia-listed shares were up 3%.
