NRG Energy said Rasesh Patel, executive vice president and president of its NRG Consumer arm, is retiring effective May 19.

NRG on Monday said it expects to name a successor during the second quarter, adding that Patel will remain available to the Houston energy company in an advisory role to assist with the transition.

Patel, who joined NRG in connection with the March 2023 acquisition of Vivint, has been president of NRG Consumer since March 2024, when he assumed leadership of the NRG Home business. He received a base salary of nearly $725,000 and total compensation topping $6.3 million last year.
