1615 GMT - The European Union's response to U.S. President Trump's 25% steel and metal tariffs will now cover less than 26 billion euros of goods, EU trade commissioner Maros Sefcovic says at a press conference in Luxembourg. The EU last month said it would impose retaliatory tariffs on a 99-page list of goods from the U.S. that includes chicken, motorcycles and bourbon. Sefcovic says the EU executive listened carefully to member states' feedback on the initial plan and is finalizing the list of products it plans to stick tariffs on. "We wanted to make sure that the burden is spread fairly among all member states," he says. (edith.hancock@wsj.com)
