ABC-Mart (TYO:2670) reported a 4.5% increase in all-store sales in March from a year ago, according to a delayed filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Sales at existing stores grew by 4.1% year on year, the filing said.
All-store sales per customer rose 1.8% for the month, while the number of customers saw an increase of 2.6%.
The company's store count reached 1,081 with the closing of six stores and the opening of six.
ABC-Mart's shares shed more than 5% at market close.
