1440 ET - With Walmart's stock down around 18% since mid-February, investors are questioning whether its market share gains are slowing relative to the rest of retail, Morgan Stanley analysts say in a research note. The analysts say that retail spending has slowed across the board, so while it's unlikely Walmart's dominance is fading, they note its low income Hispanic consumer appears increasingly more strained than other low income segments with a weaker buy rate and growing focus on value. Additionally, Dollar Tree's higher buy rate among low income consumers suggest some of Walmart's customer base could be trading down, the analysts say. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
