Turaco Gold (ASX:TCG) confirmed historical mineralization and the expected resource growth at the Afema project in the Ivory Coast following shallow drilling at the Begnopan prospect, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

Thirty-two reverse circulation and diamond core holes were drilled at the prospect, with all but one hole showing "significant" gold mineralization, the filing said.

The results include 34 meters at 3.4 grams per tonne (g/t) grade of gold from 65 meters and 8 meters at 5.3 g/t grade of gold from 46 meters.

The company maintains three double-shift drill rigs at the prospect, with several assays pending, per the filing.
