0633 GMT - Vodafone Idea stands to benefit from India's Ministry of Communications' decision to convert INR369.5 billion of outstanding spectrum dues into equity, Nomura's Hemang Khanna says in a research report, as the brokerage maintains the stock's buy rating. The decision looks positive as this eases worries over the Indian telecom company's managing repayments of spectrum dues in FY 2026 and improves the outlook for debt raising, the analyst says. With the ministry's action, the company's spectrum dues over FY 2026-2028 have fallen to roughly INR200 billion from INR610 billion previously, the analyst notes. However, Nomura trims its FY 2025-2027 Ebitda forecasts for Vodafone Idea by 4% to reflect modestly lower subscribers' assumptions, and lowers its target price to INR10.00 from INR12.00.
