Equinox Gold (EQX) said Tuesday it has paused operations at its Los Filos mine in Guerrero, Mexico, for an indefinite period after its land access agreement with one of the three host communities expired on Monday.
The Mezcala and Xochipala communities signed and ratified new long-term deals with the company in January, while the Carrizalillo community has not reached a new agreement with Equinox, the Canadian gold miner said.
Equinox said its 2025 production outlook does not include any production from the Los Filos mine.
