Meta Platforms (META) is preparing to launch a new version of its smart glasses, code-named Hypernova, as early as by the end of 2025, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
Priced between $1,000 and $1,400, the glasses will feature a built-in screen, hand-gesture controls, and an upgraded camera intended to compete with smartphones, according to the report.
The device will include a monocular display located in the lower-right corner of the right lens, allowing users to view photos, apps, and notifications. A follow-up version, Hypernova 2, featuring a binocular display system with dual screens, is reportedly scheduled for 2027.
Meta is reportedly also considering an upgraded camera that would match the iPhone 13 and a new triangular and foldable carrying case, the report said.
Meta did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
