--BAE Systems is ready to boost capital investment beyond the 1 billion pounds ($1.3 billion) it spends annually once the U.K. government's defense spending plans become actual orders, according to Chief Financial Officer Bradley Greve, Bloomberg reports.
--The U.K. defense group could lift its capital investments as soon as this year to boost production, Greve tells Bloomberg.
--Europe and the U.K. are "under-invested" in space capabilities and need to do more to reduce their dependence on the U.S., and any such goals will take "years, not months," he says in an interview with Bloomberg.
