Orion Minerals (ASX:ORN) has updated its mineral resource estimate for the Prieska Copper-Zinc Mine in South Africa, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The new estimate for the Crown Pillar supergene and hypogene sulfide zones is at 1.1 million tonnes at 2.8% copper and 2.2% zinc, the filing said.
The updated MRE brings the total indicated and inferred mineral resource to 31 million tonnes grading 1.2% copper and 3.6% zinc, the filing added.
Full-scale mining activities in the area are expected to start in the near term with all permits in place, the company said.
Shares of the company fell 6% at market close.
