0918 GMT - Imperial Brands's capital markets day provides greater visibility and provides a modest improvement in 2026 and 2027 estimates, AlphaValue analyst Filippo Piva says in a note. The U.K.-listed tobacco manufacturer's five-year transformation plan boosts the company's credibility, increasing investment in its top five cigarette markets, boosting its sales force and scaling up new generation products while keeping the traditional cigarettes segment as the main contributor, the analyst adds. The sector is poised for significant growth ahead, he notes. Although the company didn't disclose information regarding annual share buybacks, AlphaValue estimates around 1 billion pounds a year. Shares are down 0.4% but up nearly 60% over the last 52 weeks. (michael.susin@wsj.com)
