0440 GMT - Pony AI will likely to scale up robotaxi operations from this year, Daiwa analysts write in a note. The company, which has 250 robotaxis nationwide, is aiming for large-scale commercialization, they say. Pony AI is prioritizing robotaxi operations in four Tier-1 cities in China and thinks that each of these has the potential to have tens of thousands of the vehicles, they say. The company is also working with Toyota, BAIC and GAC on its latest autonomous driving system, they add. The push is unlikely to be profitable however. Pony AI was loss-making last year and will likely remain that way in 2025 and 2026, the analysts say. (jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
