The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) cleared Vocus Group's (ASX:VOC) proposed acquisition of TPG Telecom (ASX: TPG), the regulator said in a statement Thursday.
The regulator reviewed the competitive overlap between Vocus and TPG in providing data network and connectivity services, including fixed-line internet, to large enterprise and government customers, the statement said.
The ACCC also examined the impact on fixed-line voice, National Broadband Network wholesale aggregation, and data center services.
"Overall, we did not find that the acquisition would likely result in substantially lessening competition in any market," said ACCC Commissioner Philip Williams.
