Lotus Bakeries shares rose after it said it expanded its existing agreement with food major Mondelez International to include ice cream products.

Shares were up 5.2% at 8,450 euros in early European trade Thursday.

Under the deal, major ice cream maker Froneri will now produce Lotus Biscoff-branded ice cream products, the Belgium snack food company said.

"This collaboration will strengthen our position in the ice cream sector, enabling Biscoff to grow into a global ice-cream brand. Moreover, introducing the Biscoff taste to icecream consumers worldwide will further boost our brand awareness and the ability of our own organization to focus on Biscoff cookies and spread globally." Lotus Bakeries Chief Executive Jan Boone said.
