EnCore Energy (EU) said Thursday it started a second ion exchange circuit at its Alta Mesa uranium processing plant in Texas, doubling flow capacity to 5,000 gallons per minute.
The company said it has expanded its wellfield with additional injection and extraction wells and is working to bring more wells online to increase uranium recovery.
EnCore said it has 17 drill rigs working on increasing extraction at Alta Mesa and plans to add more. A third ion exchange circuit, slated to be operational in 2026, is expected to raise capacity to 7,500 gallons per minute, the company said.
Shares of the company were up more than 4% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
