0652 GMT - Japanese stocks ended higher as concerns about borrowing costs abated. Electronics and machinery stocks led the gains. Advantest climbed 5.3% and Mitsubishi Electric gained 3.6%. The Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.7% to 37053.10. The 10-year Japanese government bond yield fell 2.5 basis points to 1.520%. Besides U.S. tariff news, investors are focusing on any developments related to Japanese monetary policy ahead of the Bank of Japan's policy meeting next week.
