America's Car-Mart Is Well Positioned Ahead of Spring Selling Season -- Market Talk

1242 ET - America's Car-Mart sold more cars in its recent quarter than it did a year earlier, despite operating in what CEO Doug Campbell says on a call with analysts is an uncertain market, in which used car affordability is a major concern among consumers. "The work that we've done as a company, by centralizing certain functions, finding new sources of inventory and tightening underwriting standards, will help us navigate the environment more effectively," he says. The company feels good heading into the seasonally-strong spring selling season, Campbell says, having added inventory and fine tuned its marketing strategy, while continuing to pursue opportunities to improve deal structures. Shares rise 18% following a better-than-expected F3Q. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
