China Submits Revised Request to WTO for Dispute Resolution Over US Tariffs

China has filed a revised request for dispute settlement consultations with the US over new American tariffs imposed on products from China, the World Trade Organization said Wednesday.

The latest submission is an addendum to China's original Feb. 4 request for consultations to include the doubling of US duties on Chinese goods to 20%, the WTO said.

The "measures at issue appear to be inconsistent" with the US' obligations under certain provisions of the 1994 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade treaty, the WTO said.
