Augustus Minerals (ASX:AUG) used artificial intelligence algorithms to identify 18 gold targets at its Music Well gold project in Western Australia, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

It began a gold targeting exercise with SensOre_X in November 2024, using its AI and machine learning technologies. Geological, geochemical, and geophysical data sets were integrated into the process.

The mining firm is planning to conduct geological mapping and sampling over these new targets for the next two weeks.

It is also expecting results from its January rock chip sampling program.

Company shares rose 10% in recent trading on Tuesday.
