Berkeley Energia (ASX:BKY) said it is conducting metallurgical test work to assess the potential recovery of lithium and rubidium from its Conchas project in Spain, according to a Friday Australian bourse fling.
The company will also conduct 3D modeling of the drilling data.
Its wholly owned unit, Berkeley Exploration, filed a request for arbitration for its investments in Spain through its Spanish subsidiary, Berkeley Minera Espana in May 2024.
Tribunal members are being selected in the current phase of the arbitration process.
The firm said it remains committed to the Salamanca project in Spain and continues to be open to a constructive dialogue with the government.
The firm's shares jumped past 11% in recent trading on Friday.
