Veritex Holdings named William Holford as its next chief financial officer, succeeding Terry Early, who will retire at the end of June.

Holford, 42, has been with Veritex, owner of the Texas-based Veritex Community Bank, since 2011, most recently at director of strategic corporate development, according to a filing with Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday. He has also served as treasurer and controller.

Holford will assume his new role on July 1, and work closely with Earley on the transition.

Earley is expected to join Veritex's board following his retirement and will consult with the bank holding company as well.
