Market Chatter: CSG Systems International Target of Takeover Interest From Japan-based NEC

CSG Systems International (CSGS) shares were up Wednesday after Reuters reported that Japan-based technology group NEC is considering making an offer for the company.

NEC is discussing with advisers an option to make an offer and is collaborating with Morgan Stanley (MS) investment bankers for a potential deal, the report said citing people familiar with the matter.

Talks between the companies are preliminary, and a deal is not assured as NEC might not bid, and other buyers could appear, the sources said.

Neither CSG Systems nor NEC immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
