TH Plantations (KLSE:THPLANT) unit TH PELITA Simunjan is facing a lawsuit over Native Customary Rights on land in Sarawak, Malaysia, alleging trespassing and land clearing.
Nine individuals claim ownership and seek 184.2 million ringgit in damages, and 46.1 million ringgit in aggravated and/or exemplary damages, according to a Tuesday Malaysian bourse filing.
The company's 60% owned unit argues the land was legally designated for development and disputes the claims.
