Blackstone Minerals (ASX:BSX) is engaged in advanced talks to include copper-gold projects into its mineral portfolio, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

It expects talks and technical assessments to advance in the coming weeks.

The firm added that its joint venture partnership process for the Ta Khoa nickel and copper project in Vietnam is moving forward, as it aligns strategic objectives with those of its potential partners.

It is also renegotiating the terms of an option agreement for the Wabowden nickel sulfide project in Canada to "better reflect the prevailing conditions" in the nickel market. It decided not to exercise the option under the existing terms, following talks with potential partners, the filing added.

Blackstone's shares fell 11% in recent trade.
