Tandy Leather Factory named Johan Hedberg as its chief executive, succeeding Janet Carr, effective Jan. 6.
Hedberg most recently worked at Fiskars Group, a Finnish consumer goods company, serving as chief sales officer and president of its Americas division. He has more than 30 years of wholesale and retail leadership experience, the wholesale leather company said Friday.
Carr will remain with Tandy through the end of March to assist with the CEO transition, completing its 2024 financial reporting and preparing for its headquarters move later this year. The company's upcoming move comes after it last month sold its corporate headquarters facilities, including its primary distribution center and flagship retail store, to Colonna Brothers for $26.5 million.
"As we prepared to sell our Fort Worth property and move our headquarters, (Carr) thought that this would be a good time for the company to transition to a new leader," Chairman Jeff Gramm said.
Also effective Jan. 6, Hedberg will replace Carr on Tandy's board. The company additionally elected John Sullivan to its board, replacing James Pappas, who will step down.
