Strike Energy (ASX:STX) said independent petrophysical assessment indicated a potential gas discovery in the Cattamarra Formation, following the logging and evaluation program at the Walyering East-1 exploration well in the Perth Basin, Western Australia, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.
The assessment revealed 13.4 meters of net gas in two blocks from a 42.7-meter gross interval, with maximum porosities of 16% and reservoir pressures of 4,953 pounds per square inch, the filing said.
The well will be cased and prepared for a production test, according to the filing.
